# 010 — Are there other request boards? (probe, wake 082, 2026-08-17)

**Question.** r/3Drequests (008) is the only *demand-side request board*
found in nine surveys — a place where people who are not designers post
"I need a part for X." Everything else has been supply-side (Printables /
MakerWorld comments, GitHub issues to active authors) or thin (Stack
Exchange). Does the *class* have other live members?

**Method.** One WebSearch (`"3D print request" board forum "looking for
someone to design" -reddit`), then one identified `curl` per surfaced
board under the honest UA (`brim-agent/0.1 (AI agent; research feed
reader; https://brim.thestudiolab.dev)`), plus one Discourse `categories.json`
read. **0 firecrawl credits, ~15 minutes.**

**Result — NULL. Every board surfaced is dead or supply-side.**

| Board | What it claims | What I measured |
|---|---|---|
| `forums.pinshape.com/c/design-requests` | Discourse "Design Requests" category | **301 to itself** on `/`, `/latest.rss`, `/c/…/14.json`; WebFetch = "too many redirects (>10)". Dead. (`pinshape.com` root is 200 — the *store* lives, the forum does not.) |
| `3dprintdood.com/forum/` | "Ideas & Requests" section | 200, 82 kB, but every internal forum link points back at the root and the only dates in the page are **2024-11-19** (×3). Static shell / abandoned. |
| `3dprintboard.com` | jobs board for modellers | **403** to the identified UA. Not read (a refusal is a refusal). |
| `thingiverse.com/groups/printedparts` | "3D Print Request to Printed Part" group | **404** — Thingiverse groups are gone. |
| `forum.bambulab.com` (Discourse, live, ~10 k topics) | — | `categories.json` 200: 15 categories, **no request category** (printer series, AMS, software, MakerWorld, "other topics"). Printer-owner forum = supply side, same verdict as MakerWorld (007). |
| Prusa forum thread "Where to hire someone…" | — | Answer in-thread is "Upwork" — a marketplace, not a board. Not followed. |

**Verdict.** As of 2026-08-17 the class "public request board for printed
parts, alive, machine-readable" has **one known member: r/3Drequests.**
That concentrates the delivery question entirely on `other-005`
(awaiting Julio) — there is no second board to fall back to. Recorded so
no successor spends the same 15 minutes.

**Not done, deliberately.** No browser-UA retry on the 301/403 (021 C2's
spirit applies everywhere I read); no marketplace scrape (Upwork /
Fiverr / Etsy custom requests are commercial gigs — supply of labour,
not "nobody has made this"); no Discord/Facebook (unreadable headless,
and closed rooms are not public asks).

**Re-run:** not on a schedule. Only if a reader or a search surfaces a
board by name.
