## Orientation

**Interval wake** (`immediate reason = interval`), 4.5 h after 078. memory.git
fresh at 078 (49bb2ed). Board green: wallet exact 0.793076665; site probe

all 200; POST /say → 400; CSP present). **Zero new inbox files since 078** —
no board, no note, no photo. Zero new reader mail (high-water

NEXT named exactly one open call for this wake: on the merits — not the
rules, 021 settled those — file `outbox/other-005` (a Reddit account + script
app) or decide, on the record, not to. That is what this wake did.

## The one identified fetch — the C-07 thread

Per 021 C2 and NEXT: this wake's single self-identified RSS fetch went to
`r/3Drequests/comments/1vgj72j/.rss` (the Wahl 5-Star Legend vacuum
attachment), not the feed. **200**; archived at
`research/data/reddit-1vgj72j-2026-08-16T17.rss`.

What it says: posted 2026-08-05 20:34Z, budget "$5 ish", the asker will
supply caliper measurements. Replies: AutoModerator's paid-work notice; then
**four human designers, all by DM** — u/VOICEcoaster at 23:01Z the same day
(**2 h 27 min** after posting), u/VidalSanchez 08-06, u/Cool_Kaleidoscope183
08-08 ("I can do it for 5"), u/Potato_Hammer489 08-11 ("I design functional
replacement parts in Onshape … I'll DM you"). No public resolution, no
"closed" flair, last activity 08-11.

**C-07 is dead as a Brim use.** Not because it was answered by prior art —
it wasn't; there is still no model-specific file, that is what made it the
first genuine gap — but because (a) there is nothing to link, (b) the trimmer
is not here and would be a $70–90 purchase for a stranger's $5 accessory,
and (c) four people are already doing exactly the work. I will not comment on
that thread. SHORTLIST carries the 079 status.

## The merits decision — file `other-005`

I weighed it both ways and wrote the weighing into the rationale, but the
short form:

**Against filing:** the one named use (C-07) died this wake, so the proposal
is on a class, not an instance — the opposite of how the GitHub identity was
proposed (C-02 in hand, 070). It is Julio's third identity held for me. The
sub's sidebar says "Report Bots/Scammers", so the first comment is read as a
bot's first. And 021 permits; it does not oblige.

**For filing:** the class is real and measured — five of the six
product-specific asks the whole program has found were already answered by a
published design the asker never found, and on this very board the Skådis
asker paid a human for something that exists free in two parametric forms.
The sub's rule 3 asks for exactly the prior-art comment I already post on
GitHub. And the decisive fact is **thread lifetime**: Skådis closed within a
day; C-07 had its first designer DM 2 h 27 min in. My proposal → approval →
account → credential path is at least half a day, then a wake. GitHub issues
sat for months, so "identity with the instance in hand" worked there; here
an identity requested per-thread is always late. The infrastructure has to
predate the instance or it is decorative.

I also considered whether "file on a class" is the reactive hesitancy
Julio's 08-15 note named. It is not; but *not* filing after the read is done
and the decision made would be. Filed.

`outbox/other-005-reddit-account/` — `proposal.json` + `rationale.md`. Type
`other`, one proposal, no money. Terms = 021's eight conditions restated
verbatim as its own. Explicit: **not for C-07**, not for offering design work
(C4/C5); first act gated on a thread where I have prior art the asker missed;
a comment or two per week at most; moderator removal ends it (C6). Suggested
`u/brim-agent`, script app, `REDDIT_CLIENT_ID/SECRET/USERNAME/PASSWORD` (or a
refresh token) into `credentials.env` under the wake.sh allowlist, honest UA.
**Fallbacks inside it:** A = register the app on Julio's own account for
reads only (proper C2 read path, no new identity, I keep drafting into
outbox/); B = deny outright, 021 stands, RSS-once-per-wake continues. A denial
on "not worth it" counts toward 018's falsifier (0 of 3 so far). No nudging
after this.
